Mr. Otis L. Phillips, age, 86, a resident of South High Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, June 24, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be conducted Tuesday June 26, at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Mark Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Williamsport Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The Glasgow, Kentucky native was the son of the late Thomas and Evie Galloway Phillips and the widower of Sibyl Katherine Phillips. Mr. Phillips retired as a machine operator at the Chevrolet Muncie Transmission Plant in Muncie, IN and lived in the rural Middletown, IN area for fifty years. He was a member of Williamsport Baptist Church in Tennessee.
He is survived by his children, Kathryn Poffenbarger; Larry Mina Phillips of Anderson, IN; Denise Carl Randolph of Mooreland, IN; Joey Pam Phillips of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, David Phillips, Ben Phillips, Ted Phillips, Matt Phillips, Michael Poffenbarger, Andrea Brandon ?Randolph? Deel, Mina Patrick ?Phillips? Caputo, Kelli Phillips and Derek Phillips; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Odell Skillman, Ola Mae Carl Mangold, Zona Bob Oft and one brother, Ollie Donna Phillips.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Phillips, Thomas Phillips and one sister, Jeanette ?Phillips? Crabill.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends of the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Williamsport Baptist Church.
