Oma Lee “Brownie” Scott Bradford Wingett, 88 of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 18, 1928 in Hickman County to her late parents, Carley Scott and Lillie Bea Slaughter-Scott. Brownie was a devoted neighbor. She had loads of friends and was loved by so many. She loved animals and was the owner of Ken’s Pets Palace for several years, mostly because her house was full of animals. To this day, her house still has the “bird room”. She was retired from Weathertamer in Columbia.
Survivors for Brownie include: her daughter, Judie (Donald) Woodward; grandchildren: Vanessa (Randy) Uzzell; Cheryl (Bobby) Katzenberger, Candie (Shawn) Rebeor, Benjamin James, and Adam Woodward; great-grandchildren: Lana Slaughter, Daniel Starling, Chasity Roberts, Megan Rebeor, Jesse James, Anthony James, and Emily James; many great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her sister, Mildred Ragsdale, and her special friend, Ken Wingett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Iuelis Bradford; son, Jerry Bradford; great-grandson, David Katzenberger; great-great-grandson, Landon Slaughter; one sister, and two brothers.
The funeral service for Brownie Wingett will be held in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia on Wednesday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Boshers officiating. Burial will follow the service in Baker Cemetery. The family welcomes friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 28, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Randy Uzzell, Bobby Katzenberger, Benjamin James, Adam Woodward, Ryan Slaughter, Daniel Starling and Shawn Rebeor.
