Ollie Mae Griggs, age 86 of Columbia, passed away April 14, 2012 at her residence under the care of her grandson and his wife, Lance and Belinda Pangle.
She was born January 16, 1926 in Maury County to the late Ollie Sutherland and the late Lou Anna Warf. She was married to Rulen Vester Griggs, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2003. During the 1940's she worked as an operator with the Southern Bell telephone company before starting her most adored job, being a homemaker for her family. Her crafty hands lead her into sewing and quilting, something she was very passionate and proud of. She leaves behind hand-sewn dolls with custom tailored dresses for her family to hold and reflect on her memory. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are pending, and will be announced at a later date.
Left behind to share the legacy of a life well lived are her daughters: Phyllis Ralph Williams and Shelia Carl Nelson; her grandchildren: Lance Belinda Pangle, Amanda Nelson and Matthew Nelson; great grandchildren: Andrew Pangle, Hannah Pangle and Jacob Pangle; step great grandchildren: Jamison Friley and Macey Martin; one sister: Eunice Kinzer.
