Ollie Mae Hampton, born November 28, 1936, died in her home peacefully on February 25, 2024.

Ollie Mae was born in Ashburn, GA to her parents, Lula Jane Banks and Ollie G. Revell. After attending school, she worked tirelessly until she retired. Ollie Mae was an integral part in helping her mother, Lula, care for her younger siblings, caring for family before she pursued a passion in home health care. She loved working with geriatric patients and also helped care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for extended periods of her life in her home. She loved to travel and lived in Colorado, California, North Carolina, Chicago, and Georgia before moving to Tennessee in 2023. She loved the Lord and always found a church home wherever she went. Ollie Mae had an infectious laugh, and a quick wit and enjoyed the entertainment of her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is preceded by death by her mother, Lula Banks (2005), father, Ollie G. Revell (1943), dad, Henry Banks (1986), and her husband, Fred Hampton (1980). She is also preceded in death by daughter Dorothy Faye (1958), son Wayne Hampton (2000) as well as the following siblings- Manson Revell (2015), Nathan Revell (2010), Nathaniel Revell (2010), Donnell Revell (2016), Eugene Banks (2000), James Banks (2007), Jimmy Banks (2004), and Johnny Banks (2015).

She is survived by children: Charles Hampton, Greg Hampton, Kenny Hampton, Sieasa Beverly Jean (John) Coppedge, and Bridgette (Reggie) Saddler; grandchildren: Tracey Hampton, Carlos Hampton, Wayne Hampton Jr., Tracy Cole Hampton, Sara Hampton, Rachel Hampton, Lakia Hollis, Lei-San Tillman, Kendrick Hampton, Jacinta Douglas, Shivonne Hood, Jordan Jackson, Ingra Saddler; and siblings: Lettie Mae Revell, Lanier Banks, and Janette Banks.

As well as a host of other loving great-grandchildren, family, friends, and loved ones who remain to celebrate and honor her life.

Funeral services will be held at Allen Mitchell Funeral Home in Hickory, North Carolina in March. She will be laid to rest at Southside Cemetery in Hickory, North Carolina. The family appreciates your prayers and condolences during this time.
