Norman Earl Ritchey, Sr.

December 30, 1922 — November 4, 2003

Mr. Norman Earl Ritchey, Sr., 80, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at his residence in Big Pine Key, Florida.

Funeral services for Mr. Ritchey will be conducted Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

The Sixth Mile Run, Pennsylvania native was the son of the late Harry E. and Mary Ethel White Ritchey. He was the husband of Robbie Pauline Shelton Ritchey, formerly of Mt. Pleasant. He was retired from NASA in Greenbelt, Maryland. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in which he became a Disabled American Veteran. His name has been submitted for the veteran wall in Washington D.C. and was also a member of the Methodist church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Norman E. Ritchey, Jr. of Big Pine Key, FL and Robert D. Ritchey of Marion, MD; five grandchildren, Renee Chris Sevtlick of Davy, FL, Norman E. Ritchey, III of Big Pine Key, FL, Billy Ritchey and Bobby Ritchey both of Marion, MD, and Lori Burton of Chester, MD; two great grandchildren, Christopher Sevtlick and Kimberly Sevtlick both of Davy, FL; two sisters, Blanche Strumbly of Highland Heights, OH and Kathryn Deval of Sackston, PA; a sister-in-law, Margaret Knight of Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen; two brothers, William Ritchey and Mickey Ritchey.

Pallbearers will be Junior Lemay, Junior Roberts, Terry Isabell, Charles Wakefield, Hal Brown, and Mark Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Main Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant.
