Norma Strickland Mcpherson

July 23, 1916 — February 5, 2004

Mrs. Norma Fay Strickland McPherson, 87, a resident of Denham Avenue in Columbia, left this life to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mrs. McPherson will be conducted Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Gene Shelton, Reverend Brian Wiesinger, and Dennis Farrell officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Albion, Michigan native was the daughter of the late Guy Earl and Ada Wilmarth Strickland and wife of Noble Burton McPherson of Columbia. She received her B.A. in Education from the Michigan State Normal College and was a homemaker. She was affiliated in recent years with Grace Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Douglas McPherson of Columbia, TN; a daughter, Colleen Dennis Farrell of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren, Douglas Wayne Sue Farrell of Mason, MI, Julie Kay Todd Ovenhouse of Howell, MI, Christopher Levi Farrell and Jeremiah Burton Farrell both of Columbia, TN, Elizabeth Fay Farrell Joe Patterson of Madison, AL, Rachel Elizabeth McPherson and Patrick Douglas McPherson both of Charlotte, MI; three sisters, Estelle Champney of Michigan, Frances Conrad of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Dora French of Albion, MI and several loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roscoe Strickland of Los Angeles, CA.

Pallbearers will be Douglas McPherson, Christopher Farrell, Jeremiah Farrell, Joe Patterson, Mike Helmuth, and Gary Jackson.
