Norma Jennings

December 24, 1942 — October 2, 2013

Mrs. Norma Jean Jennings was born Dec. 24th, 1942, in Linden, TN. to the late Ms. Mary Jane Campbell and Grady Pope. She was raised in the Perry county community and was a graduate of Lobelville High School. In 1960, she went to work for Linden Apparel that same year. She was a skilled seamstress and could sew just about anything for anyone. She moved with her daughter to Columbia, Tennessee in 1978. She worked for Publix Shirt Co. where she worked with her mother for 11 years. After the closing of the plant, she again found herself sewing for Creekside Manufacturing where she retired from in 2004.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her father- in- law, Odell Jennings, sister- in- law, Janis Goff, nephew Ben Goff, and a great-nephew, Garret Warren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Daniel Jennings of Columbia, her only daughter Deanna (Tony) Potts of Columbia, two grandchildren Drew (Steely Barnes) and, Jade
(Byron Skinner) Collins of Columbia, four great grandchildren Tucker Gage Collins, Haven Cobb, Skylar Cobb and Maleah Skinner, two sisters Shirley (Bobby) Spencer of Lobelville, TN; and Julia Qualls of Linden, TN. Nine nieces and nephews and a very special friend Mable Baxter, and numerous others that called her "Nonnie" she was loved by so many.

She was a huge fan of Nascar Racing as well as a Dale Earnhart diehard, for years she collected Earnhart memorabilia and continued to be a dedicated racing fan, she and her mother spent years making shirts for some of the Ole Southern Rock groups and square dancers in the Columbia area. She loved the outdoors and spending time with her family on the river bank when she was able. She enjoyed reading romance novels and did lots of arts and crafts work over the years during her spare time.

She was an amazing woman, the most loving and caring mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend that anyone could have ever been blessed to have. She was beautiful inside and out and had a smile that warmed the hearts of so many. She left a lasting impression with all those who knew her and touched the hearts of everyone who loved her. She will most certainly and sadly be missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Jennings passed, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Today an angel goes to Heaven, she spreads her wings and flies, oh, what a joyous reunion in the Sky.
