Norma Jean Staggs Hutton, age 70 of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Life Care Center of Columbia.
Norma was born August 11, 1945 to Ovie and Irene Brazier Staggs in Maury County, Tennessee. She was married to Kenneth “Billy” Hutton for 25 years. Norma was retired from General Electric. Norma was baptized at 7 years old and she was a devoted Christian her entire life. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for 63 years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, played piano, and was a friend and witness to all who knew her. Norma loved her Lord, her church and her beloved husband, Billy. Norma was an auxiliary member of The Gideons International.
Norma is survived by her husband, Kenneth “Billy” Hutton of Columbia; son, Ronnie Cobb of Columbia; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Norma is preceded in death by her son, Larry "Bubba" Cobb.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Steve Swango and Rev. Brandon Stutts officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hutton, Keith Bowers, Mike Andrews, Will Alley, Dennis Gardner, Troy Bowers, and Mark Stooksbury.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
