Nora Evelyn Hughes

Nora Evelyn Hughes was born August 25, 1929 in Athens, AL, the daughter of the late James Jenkins and Pearl Pitts Jenkins. She was the wife of the late David Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was retired from Frito Lay and was a member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Church.
She leaves behind dear family members, one brother, Kenneth Sara Jenkins of Columbia; one sister, Ann Paul Pitts of Hartselle, Al, one sister-in-law, Monette Jenkins of Columbia; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews along with a host of family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ken Hughes and Bobby Hughes, and one brother, Dennis Jenkins.
Mrs. Hughes passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Falkville Health Care Center in Falkville, AL.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Shane Britt, Rev. Danny Pitts and Rev. Darrell Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
