Neva Dorothy Davis, age 99, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Neva was born to Wallace Collier and Stella Short on October 4, 1914 in Williamsport, Tennessee. Neva was married to Daniel Duncan Davis on August 3, 1933. They shared a beautiful life together until Daniel passed away in 1966. Neva was wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She worked in the home for many years and also worked at Weather Tamer. Neva was just shy of her 100th birthday. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday, September 13 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. A celebration of Neva’s life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Neva is survived by her daughters Wanda June Seagraves of Mt. Pleasant, Linda Gail (Walter Glenn) Blankenship of Friendsville, Rosie Virginia Evans of Thompson's Station, Lillie (James) Buford of Thompson's Station; son Gerald Wallace (Jo) Davis, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons Robert (Angela) Blankenship of Maryville, Brandon (Amy) Blankenship of Maryville, Matthew Blankenship of Maryville, Wally (Stephanie) Davis of Mt. Pleasant, Dana (Stacey) Davis of Mt. Pleasant, and Kenny (Patsy) Davis of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter Dannie Lynn (Joseph) Holmes of Columbia; great-grandchildren Zack (Betsy) Holmes, A.J. Holmes, Alex Holmes, Shelley Holmes, Tyler Blankenship, Daniel Blankenship, Leah Blankenship, Ava Blankenship, Samantha Cutten, Alexa Davis, Braden Davis, Marly Davis, Mabry Davis, Macy Davis, and Courtney Davis; sisters June King and Grace Cothron both of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews; and two great-great grandchildren.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Stella Short Collier; her husband Daniel Duncan Davis; her sisters Forrest Collier, Marguerite Carvel, Marie Mullins, and Frances Giles; and her brother John Malcom Collier.
Pallbearers will be her six grandsons Robert Blankenship, Brandon Blankenship, Matthew Blankenship, Wally Davis, Dana Davis, and Kenny Davis.
Honorary Pallbearers are WC Johnson, Horace Dawson, Robert Hull, John Davis, Jr., and Dr. Robert Bain.
