Nettie Pearline Coleman

Mrs. Nettie Pearline Davis Coleman, 87, a resident of Masters Lane in Columbia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 27, at Maury Regional Hospital.

A celebration service for Mrs. Coleman will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Matthew Wood and Rev. Carl Crawford officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Tallahatthalie, MS native was the daughter of Oscar Gilbert Davis and Florence Wilson Davis. She was married to her loving husband Nathan Holly Coleman for 63 years. Mrs. Coleman was a retired Chief Operator for Michigan Bell Phone Company. She enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren during the holidays, especially Christmas Eve which was their wedding anniversary. Mrs. Coleman was very instrumental in establishing Ruby's Red Dress Shop with her daughter Evelyn and adopted daughter: Patti Blackburn.

She is survived by her children: Ruby Evelyn Mitch Mitchell of Columbia, TN, Nathan Trenton Darlene Coleman of Parker, CO, Paul Clinton Gail Coleman of Garden City, MI and Mark Clayton Judy Coleman of Manchester, TN; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: John Earl Davis of Durma, MS and William Dean Davis of Dearborne Heights, MI; a sister, Clairice Berryhill of Clarksdale, MS and a very special aunt to Elaine Wood of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Coleman; brothers and sisters: Oscar Davis, Jean Carmical, Kenneth Dale Davis , Julie May Carter, Lee Davis, Minnie Wade Graham, Marion Chick Davis and Willie Dean Davis; a grandson: Gregory Williams.

Pallbearers will be Albert Lynn, Jim Hunter, Matthew Wood, Joe Lynch, Vicky Wood and Gary Bonham.

Honorary pallbearers will be all neighbors of Stoneybrook Subdivision, members of Grace Baptist Church and especially Frank Hedrick and Earnest Caldwell.
