Nellie Thompson Pinkard

Mrs. Nellie Marie Thompson Pinkard, 67, a resident of North Locust Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pinkard will be conducted Monday, March 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy Kersey and Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late George Hubb and Ruby Ellen Russell Woodard and widow of William Dean Thompson. She was a cook at various restaurants and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Wanda G. Thompson of Mt. Pleasant and Brenda Thompson of Columbia; a son, Larry Mary Thompson of Mt. Pleasant; a grandson, Jessie Thompson of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, David Woodard of Columbia, Joe Woodard of Lynnville and Charles Brenda Woodard of Lewisburg; two sisters, Geraldine Martin of Pulaski and Annette Woodard of Lynnville.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hughes, Mike Powell, Byron Jones, Ricky Lemay, James Robb and Roy Fuller. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Brawner, Linda Clark, Alan Clark, Harold and Kitty Wood, Gayle and Butch Hughes, Dr. Freels, Dr. Couch, Dr. Wyatt, Dr. Iverson and the nurses of CCU at Maury Regional Hospital.
