Mrs. Myrtle E. Pruitt Cothran, 90, a resident of Pruitt Hollow Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cothran will be conducted Sunday, September 15, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Pitts officiating. Burial will be in McClain Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Lewis County, daughter of the late Sam and Elizabeth Odom Fuller and wife of the late J.T. Pruitt, who preceded her in death in 1979 and Johnnie Cothran, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of The Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a daughter: Dorothy Greenfield of Columbia: two sons; Charles Eva Pruitt and Arch Janey Pruitt, both of Mt. Pleasant: six grandchildren, Ronnie Dean Greenfield and Jason Greenfield, both of Columbia; Tony Pruitt, Joel Pruitt and Jeff "Rosco" Pruitt, all of Mt. Pleasant and Kristie Hutsel of Nashville: six great-grandchildren; Aaron Greenfield of Columbia; Xayne Pruitt, Raigan Pruitt, Paige Pruitt, Antonio Pruitt and Ryan Kennedy, all of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Pruitt, four sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Greenfield, Jason Greenfield, Donnie Dye, Rosco Pruitt, Joel Pruitt and Tony Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Odel Haywood, Larry Haywood, Robert Brown, Dr. Richard Kennedy and Tommy Workman.
