Myrland Harrison Wood

Mr. Myrland Harrison Wood, 74, a resident of Little Dry Creek Road in the Campbellsville Community, died Saturday August 20, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Wood will be conducted Wednesday August 24, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Detroit, Michigan native was the son of the late Cecil and Pearl Beatrice Thomas Wood. He was previously married to Norma Faye Collins Wood and Kathleen Phillips Wood. Mr. Wood was a former employee of Steel Plate and Shape and Massy Ferguson in the Detroit area and later moved to the Giles County area in 1974 in which he was a former employee of Uptain Construction Company, W.M. White and Columbia Construction Companies. He retired as a welder from Davis Pugmill of Columbia, Tennessee. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman, collected guns and was of the Church of Christ faith.

He is survived by his children, Sharon Stone of Columbia, TN, Terry Scott Rooker of Campbellsville, KY , Tina Junior Goins of Buffalo, KY, Cecil Wood of Columbia, TN and William Russell Wood of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Cassie Rooker , Chad Rooker and Crystal Rooker all of Campbellsville, KY, Michael Wood of Buffalo, KY, Lisa Marie Stone of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Nicholas Wood of Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Sutliffe and Adelia, a niece, Diane David Deaton of Michigan and a nephew, Tommy Kennedy of Columbia, TN.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Faye Wood Kennedy and a grandchild, Jamie Rooker.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. James Richardson..
