Minnie Lee Lindsey

June 26, 1922 — May 24, 2011

Mrs. Minnie Harris Davis Lindsey, 88, a longtime resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on May 24, 2011 after an extended illness at Life Care Center of Columbia.

She was born June 26, 1922 in Lewis County to the late John Curtis Harris and Lizzie Turnbow Harris. She was the wife of the late Raymond Eugene Davis who passed away on February 14, 1976 and the late Roland Fletcher Lindsey who passed away on November 19, 2004. She worked for M.B. Henson Grocery, Ben Franklin Store, Dollar General Store, Butch's Market and Tietgens Cee Bee Grocery Store. She was a member of the Locust Street Church of Christ.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her daughter: Betty Terry Pullen of Columbia, son: Anthony Wendy Davis of Mt. Pleasant, granddaughter: Dawn Brian Smith of Summertown, great-granddaughter: Sommer Smith of Summertown, step-grandchildren: Stephen Pullen and Stephanie Bible. sisters: Helen Johnson of Martin, Martha Walker of Wauconda, IL, and brother: Herbert Betty Harris of Hohenwald, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers: Tom Harris, George Harris and Clarence Harris of Hohenwald, and Walter Harris of Chicago, IL and sisters: Mattie Talley and Adell Harris of Hohenwald.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lindsey will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jim Walsh and Tommy Hagewood officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Davis, George Davis, Terry Davis, Mike Davis, Mark Hayes, Terry Brewer and Terry Pullen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Shawn Reed, Dr. William Robinson, John H. Davis, Jr., Jeff Tietgens, the staff of Life Care Center, former and current members of the Columbia Fire Department and all members of the Locust Street Church of Christ.
