Mrs. Minnie H. Hargis, age 99, a resident of Adams Ave. in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hargis will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Monterey, TN, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Swallows Hall and wife of the late Earl S. Hargis, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by two sons, Harry Mary Elaine Hargis of Christiana, TN and Earls S. Bea Hargis of Crossville, TN; three daughters, Jane Ralph Holt of Lexington, TN, Linda Hall Hargis of Auburntown, TN and Gloria Tom Mitchell of Glendale, AZ; ten grandchildren, Amy Holladay of Lascassas, Kathleen Zglav of Murfreesboro, Victoria Babb of Kansas City, MO, Deborah Edge of Ackworth, GA, Christopher Eberle of Houston, TX, Eris Greene of Seymour, IN, Kathy Queen of Richland, WA, Donald Cooper Hargis of Brick, NJ, Carol Heatherington of Lincoln University, PA and Patty Wilson of Houston, TX; 20 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Roy Hall of Monterey; a sister, Virginia Callahan of Monterey; special caregiver, Ruby Grandberry of Mt. Pleasant; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Highland Rim or to the Mt. Pleasant Library.
