Mr. Milton Joseph Harmon

October 19, 1929 — December 20, 2012

Milton Joseph Harmon, a resident of Myers Avenue in Columbia, passed away Thursday, December 20, at home with his family by his side.

Milton was retired from the water department of CPWS. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and former commander of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 and Chef De Gare of the 40 & 8.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bobbie and daughters Jan (John) Bloodworth of Huntsville, Ala., and Leesa Harmon of Columbia; grandson, John Joseph (Jenny) Bloodworth and great-grandchildren, Abbie Grace and Ian Joseph Bloodworth, all of Gurley, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Martin Harmon and Ethel Mills Harmon, sister, Bobbie Latta and his beloved dog Tessa.

No services are scheduled and a family memorial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, Williamson County Public Library or the Wounded Warrior Project.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Hospice Compassus, especially his nurse, Jeanette, for their wonderful care of their loved one.
