Annie Mildred Zeber passed away at the age of 95 on October 26, 2019, at NHC Franklin.
Mildred, as she was known, was born on October 8, 1924, to the late Tommie Byrd and Lessie Alexander in the Leatherwood Community in Hickman County. Mildred was passionate about her volunteer work with the women’s auxiliary with Maury Regional Medical Center. She was a volunteer caregiver for people with cancer doing anything from cooking meals to providing transportation to and from doctor’s appointments. Mildred, the youngest of seven children, was an outstanding cook and baker. Her cheesecake became infamous within her family. She was known by the local fire department as “The Cookie Lady.” She attended Westminster Presbyterian Church.
A service will be held in Mildred’s honor on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, beginning at 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The family will receive friends the same day, starting at 11:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Mildred is survived by her three daughters; Nancy (David) Knoll of Ottawa, IL, Sherry (Gregory) Moore of Murfreesboro and Debbie Loveless of Spring Hill; two granddaughters: Megan Moore and Shannon (Blaine) Huffman; three grandsons: Ken (Debbie) Knoll, Michael (Colleen) Knoll and Broc Loveless. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Alvin J. Zeber and her son in law Mark Loveless.
