Mildred L. Short

Mildred L. Short, age 84, of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Mildred was born on May 31, 1932 to the late Tom England and the late Adell Durham.

Mildred was a hard worker, she worked at Columbia Restaurant while attending high school. After she finished high school she continued to teach herself, she especially enjoyed history. She then worked as a housekeeper for many years. She attended the first Church of Nazarene. Mildred is loved and will be dearly missed.

Mildred is survived by her sister: Ines Dugger; special niece: Kathy Knight Linger; and several other nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by: her husband: Lex V. Short; son: Richard Short; siblings: Marie and Tommy England; as well as her parents.

The family will visit with friends Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. Services will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. also at Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
