Mildred Underwood Lamb, age 91 of Columbia and former resident of Birchwood Drive, passed away June 22, 2013 at NHC Columbia.
Mildred was born January 6, 1922 to the late Frank Underwood and the late Ida Barrs Underwood in Ty Ty, Georgia. She was the wife of Leroy Lamb for 60 years until his passing in 2001. Mildred was a very special homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a member of the Riverside Methodist Church. Some of her greatest hobbies were taking care of animals, sewing, gardening and reading.
The family invites their friends to visit Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia from 12:00 P.M. until the service time at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Gary Wedgewood and Rev. David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her children Charlotte (William) Lamb of Alabama, Sharon Browne of Nashville, and Deborah (Walter) Moser of Columbia; one sister: Betty Gornto; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Billie Frances Underwood, Irma Kate Gibson and Ruby Lanier.
Mrs. Lamb’s grandsons carry the honor of serving as her pallbearers.
