Mrs. Mildred June Wiley, age 89, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, November 08, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
June was born on June 6, 1927 to Thomas Kindred and Eunice Smith Kindred in Hickman County, Tennessee. She was a 1946 graduate of Hickman County High School and was happily married to Homer E. Wiley for 60 years until his passing on August 9, 2009. She was retired as a clerk from the Holiday Inn and was a member of the James K. Polk Association and the APTA. A member of First United Methodist Church of Columbia, she enjoyed the Ayers//Whitney Fellowship Class there. She was also a member of the Ethridge Chapter 257 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Wiley was a devoted and caring mother who loved her church and her family.
She is survived by her sons: Joe A. (Debbie) Wiley of Columbia and Tim W. Wiley of Lebanon; and brother: Joe C. Kindred of Centerville, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Kindred and Eunice Smith Kindred; beloved husband: Homer Wiley and her brother: Shirley Kindred.
Funeral services for June will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jeff Jacob and Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Williams Funeral Home. The Ethridge Chapter 257 Order of the Eastern Star will perform the Eastern Star Service on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. during visitation hours.
Bobby Long, Donnie Williams, Richard Smith, Don Prentice, Kenneth Eubanks and Rick Molder will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ayers/Whitney Fellowship Class of the Columbia First United Methodist Church, John Lynch, Virgil Long, Tommy Hight, Sr., Donald Luther, Billy and Juanita Lee, Allan Underwood, Scott and Lee Burt, J. B. Shephard, Dr. Dake, and Dr. Naddy.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Dean and his staff in the Emergency Department, and Dr. Kelley and the 1st Floor West Staff at Maury Regional Medical Center. The family wishes to express a heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Life Care Center, NHC-Hillview and to Kim, her caregiver for her loyal dedication and compassion.
