Mildred Irene Fortney

Mrs. Mildred Irene Smith Fortney, age 84, a resident of Hamilton Drive in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, June 12, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Visitation for Mrs. Fortney will be Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will be in the White Chapel, Long Lake Rd. in Troy, Michigan.

Mrs. Fortney was born in Askov, Minnesota and the daughter of late Bert and Laura Juhl Smith and the wife of Hilman A. Fortney. She was a bookkeeper for Consumers Powers and retired Credit Manager for J.C. Penny. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Fortney was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and sang in the church choir.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Wayne A. Henrietta Fortney of Oscoda, MI, Lynn A. Richard Robb of White Lake, MI, Lee James Fortney of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Deborah Pete Betanio of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Angela Michael Ross of Traverse City, MI, Tonya Boettge of Waterford, MI, Cassie Tom Blascyk of Milford, MI, Amber Josh Foote of Oscoda, MI and Jeremy Betty Betanio of Columbia, TN; great-grandchildren, Madeline Ross , Olivia Ross, Nathan Boettge, Ryan Boettge, Emma Blascyk and Carson Betanio.
