Michael James "Mike" Martin, age 44, a resident of Creekstone Drive in Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, July 28 in Columbia.
Funeral services for Mike will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
The Lansing, MI, native was born on August 10, 1964, the son of Anna Ed Katheryn Nelson Martin VanMaren of Columbia and the late James Curtis Martin. Mike was self-employed and a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother include two sisters: LaDonna Mike Hamm of Palmyra, TN and LaWanda Jim Nash of College Grove, TN; three brothers: Douglas Colleen Martin of Culleoka, Dwight Martin of Columbia and Marvin Melody Martin of Erin, TN; step-brothers: Edward Holly VanMaren, Jr., of Ypsilanti, MI, David Liz VanMaren of Grass Valley, CA and Michael Cheri VanMaren of Ypsilanti, MI; several nieces and nephews.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
