Michael Sargent Patterson

March 13, 1974 — March 22, 2012

Michael Sargent Patterson, age 38 of Spring Hill, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving friends and family.

Michael was born March 13, 1974 to Shirley Burns Patterson and the late Travis Sargent Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a 1992 graduate of Central High School. The Maury County native was married to Karen Pennington Patterson, and together they share three children. Michael's family once owned and operated Sarge's Cycles where he did several things around the shop. He was an avid member of the American Motorcycle Association, and was a supporter for the Mid-South Hare Scramble Series. Michael's talent with baking, helped him share the joy of his desserts since he was 16. Cakes I Make was the business he started, and was able to serve happy customers for Buckhead's Coffee House, local businesses, and hospitals.

The family wishes to share memories of Michael in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M., and Sunday March 25, 2012 from 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to his wife, Karen, Michael leaves behind his three sons to share his legacy: Danny Patterson, Nate Patterson, Shepherd Patterson all of Spring Hill; his mother: Shirley Burns Patterson of Columbia; one sister: Marilyn Patterson of Columbia; nephews: Cody Patterson of Memphis, Jacob Patterson of Columbia; one niece: Chelsea Patterson; one sister-in-law: Becky Patterson of Mt. Pleasant; one brother-in-law Jim Susan Pennington; mother and father-in-law Faye and James Pennington; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. His father, Travis Sargent Patterson and his brother Travis Robert Patterson, preceded Michael in death.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy McCoy, Jason Burns, JP Patterson, Chase Laws, Tim Laws, Bruce Tiller, Cody Patterson, Jacob Patterson, and Billy Ryan Peden. Michael's cousins and uncles will serve as the honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to his childrens trust fund.

Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
