Michael Lloyd Quillen

Michael Lloyd Quillen, age 23 and a very upbeat and happy young man, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Michael was born on September 17, 1990 to Michael W. Quillen and Crystal O’Guin Quillen. He was a graduate of the Shelbyville High School Class of 2012. He was very loving and especially loved hugs. He was always on the go no matter what time of day it was. Michael loved his country music. He loved cars and hot wheels. His puppy, Sassy was his dear friend. He enjoyed coloring no matter the coloring book. In line with his cheerful personality, orange was his favorite color. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Michael is survived by his mother: Crystal Quillen of Columbia; father: Michael W. Quillen of Murfreesboro; brothers: Erik Quillen of Columbia and Nicholas Quillen of Spring Hill; uncles: Gerald Alan (Adra) Hughes, Tommy (Beverly) O’Guin, Wyatt Eaton and Michael Andrew Quillen; aunts: Tonya (Jason) Rhodes, Mary (Calvin) Poyner and Melissa (Andrew) Creek; aunt: Bobbie (Ollie) Bostick; grandfather: Don Eaton; grandfather: Fate Quillen; grandparents Dale and Betty Ohlen of California; uncle James (Amanda) O’Guin; great-uncle: Joe Neatherton; also survived by: Amanda Quillen and Wyatt Quillen and several cousins and uncles.

Funeral services celebrating Michael’s life will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from Noon until the service hour on Friday. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts memorial donations be made on Michael's behalf to assist with funeral expenses in care of Williams Funeral Home, P. O. Box 38, Columbia, Tennessee 38402.

Coty Hughes, Alan Hughes, Timmy Bailey, Jason Rhodes, Calvin Poynor, Dylan Malcrom will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Summer Dawn Hughes, Alexis Hughes, Jazmine Hughes and his friends and family that loved him.
