Michael ?Mike? Lyons, age 55, a resident of Academy Court in Columbia passed away Saturday, November 24, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Lyons will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 ? 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Pontiac, Michigan native was the son of Stella Irene Walters Lyons of Pontiac, Michigan and the late Charles William Lyons. He was the husband of Peggy Pruitt Lyons. He was retired Op-Tech for General Motors. He served in the United States Coast Guard.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Heather Jared Sanders of Centerville, Michael Caryn James Lyons, Jr. and Elizabeth Lyons both of Columbia; grandchildren: Mallory Rose Sanders and Gage Wesley Sanders both of Centerville, Jayda Michelle Lyons, Aden Lee Logan and Maycie Lynn Logan all of Columbia; one brother: Rick Charles Lyons and two sisters: Linda Allen and Cindy Shipley; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dan Daly, Jared Sanders, Lee Logan, ?Dusty? Robert Yates, Clarence Pruitt, Floyd Schell and Paul Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Caris Hospice, especially Deborah ?Stormy?, members of the UAW and Mid State Cardiology Group.
