Melvin Honaker

January 29, 1951 — December 12, 2002

Mr. Melvin Honaker, 51, a resident of the Bear Creek Community, died Thursday, December 12, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Honaker will be conducted Sunday, December 15, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with John Wesley House and Donald Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Boyle County, Kentucky native was the son of the late Clayton Foster and Margaret Beatrice Davis Honaker. He was the husband of Teresa Diane Owens Honaker of Columbia. He was both owner and operator of M & M Automotive Repair in Columbia. He was a former employee of Kusan-Aeroquip in Franklin; he was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church in Bethesda and currently attended House of Prayer Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Chris Susan Johnson of Junction City, Kentucky; two daughters, Stephanie Honaker of Columbia and Michelle D.R. Leonard of Junction City, Kentucky; eight sisters, Marie Ray Hawes of Bethesda, Mary Jimmy Matherly of Danville, KY, Barbara Whitfield of Dickson, TN, Nancy Keith of Junction City, KY, Priscilla Andrew McCarson of Dickson, TN, Sylvia Johnson of Franklin, Lucy Michael Hamilton of Danville, KY, Carol Johnson of Frankfort, KY; one brother, Basil Honaker of Dickson, TN; four grandchildren, Christopher Burchfield, Shelby Johnson, Clayton Leonard, Douglas Leonard; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by twin sister Patricia Honaker, a brother James Honaker.

Active Pallbearers will be Tandy Poteete, Walter Martin, Mike Scribner, Dustin Tate, Mike Roberts and Brian Emerson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Cross Keys Baptist and House of Prayer churches, Dr. Paul Moots, Jeannie Blevins, and Jerry Marlin.
