Melvin Eugene "Gene" Russell

Mr. Melvin Eugene "Gene" Russell, 83, a resident of Lawrence Street in Mt. Pleasant, Tn., died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Russell will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 17, in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Mr. Russell's grandson Roger Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
The Russellville, Al. native was the son of the late Oscar and Lula Bruce Russell and the husband of Mary Louise Watkins Williams Russell who passed away in 1999. He was first married to Lema Hinson Russell who died in 1964. He was then married to Annie Elizabeth Hinson Russell who also preceded him in death.
He retired as a foreman from Mobil Chemical Company in Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons, Douglas R. "Pete" Lorna Russell of Lewisburg, TN and Bobby "Chicken" Julie Russell of Linden, TN., three sisters; Edna Russell Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, Peggy Doc Farris of Columbia and Margaret Edward Lewis of Columbia, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, several step-children and other Step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Williams, Ricky Russell, Roger Russell, Charles Vandiver, Timothy Russell, Chad Roder, Chad Ferguson and Danny Copeland.
