Melvin A. Clark, 88, a resident of Sandy Hook Road in the Sandy Hook Community passed away Saturday, December 24 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born September 10, 1923 in Maury County, son of the late Houston and Lillian Gibson Clark and husband of Elizabeth Buckner Clark. A US Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Clark retired as a foreman with Stauffer Chemical and was a minister of Gordonsburg Church, Macedonia and Liberty Valley. He loved ballgames, squirrel hunting, working on his farm and coaching softball. He was a member of Sandy Hook Church of Christ

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Barbara Doug Lindsey of Summertown and Roy Bettilynn Clark of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Jeff Gayla Clark of Murfreesboro, Leigh Ann Chris Hill Mt. Pleasant, Adam Emily Lindsey of Summertown and Beth Brumit of Santa Fe; great grandchildren: Clark Hill, Katie Hill, A.J. Clark, Ella Clark, Hannah Lindsey, Hayden Lindsey, Emma Brumit and Abby Brumit; sister: Mary Cummins. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years: Berta Mai Dugger Clark; brother: J.T. Cook.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.

The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Adam Lindsey, Jeff Clark, Chris Hill, Ronnie Dugger, Wayne Dugger and Jr. Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Sandy Hook Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Sandy Hook Church of Christ Building Fund.
