Melba Frances Rountree

Melba Frances Rountree, age 85, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Melba was born in Maury County on September 30, 1928 to parents Oscar McClain, Sr. & Lillian Brown McClain. Melba attended MTSU, and was a housewife & teacher at Mt. Joy & Sandy Hook schools. She married her late husband Dennis Jack Rountree, Sr. on December 21, 1949. She was a member of the Church of Christ North Main St. in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Melba was deeply involved in her church, and sewed clothes for her church mission work.
Services for Melba will be Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant, TN, with burial to follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may visit on Friday, February 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant, TN. Bro Stephen Kelley will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be: Don Gibson, Hal Brown, Ron Kelley, Doug Kelley, Gene Craig, and Steve McEwen.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the North Main St. Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Survivors include; Sons; Dennis J. Rountree, Jr. of Columbia, TN, Timothy B. Rountree of Columbia, TN, Brother; Paul McClain of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Sisters; Jean Durrenberger of Brentwood, TN, & Martha Bremer of Iowa.
Melba is preceded in death by: Parents; Oscar McClain, Sr., & Lillian Brown McClain, Husband; Dennis Jack Rountree, Sr., Daughter-in-law; Lori Rountree, Granddaughter; Adrien Rountree; Sisters; Eleanor Brown Gibson, Mary Kelley, and Brother; Oscar McClain, Jr.
The family requests memorials be made to the North Main St. Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TN
