Melba Joyce Cheek, age 83 passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Dunedin, Florida. Melba was born in Columbia, TN May 14, 1935 to William Foster and Sally "Mama Pearl" Overstreet Foster.
Melba was a loving partner to Larry Green. Wonderful mother, aunt, and friend. She lived a full life, filled with laughter and joy. She retired from the Eaton Corporation in Atlanta, GA. She is loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
A memorial service to honor Melba's life will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at The Arbors in Polk Memorial Gardens with David R. Johnson officiating.
Melba is survived by her daughter: Kathy Cheek; son: Rex (Sandra) Cheek; and grandchildren: Oliver White, Covey White, Matthew Cheek, and Jeff Cheek.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life Larry Green; her parents; sisters: Christine Lancaster, Bobbie Burns, Dot Chappell, Lela Walker and Eugie Logue; brothers: Pealy Foster, Arnold Foster and Ernest Foster; and beloved brother in law: Jimmy Lancaster.
