Maury Paul Chappell, Jr.

Former Maury County resident, Maury Paul Chappell, Jr, age 73, passed away at his home in Huron, IN on January 23, 2011.

Mr. Chappell was born on February 7, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, Tn and was the son of the late Maury Paul Chappell and Viola Adams Chappell, but lived in Columbia for a number of years and graduated from Central High School in 1954. He also attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute and the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

Most of his working career was involved with several pharmacy businesses. He was a Regional Manager of Drugstore Operatins for a Texas based company, and finished his career with Revco and CVS Pharmacies. In addition he was an ordained minister, a radio show host and disc jockey, and for over 50 years was an auctioneer.

Mr. Chappell is survived by his wife, Judy Flora Chappell of Huron, IN; two brothers, Wayne A. Chappell and Albert E. Chappell of Columbia, stepmother, Sarah Harris Chappell of Columbia, a son, James Paul Chappell, two daughters, Lisa Roberts and Margretta Gavin, all of Fort Worth, TX and four stepchildren, Sam Wilson, Kimberly Tuddy and Robin Wilson all of Huron, IN area, April Maquart of Dayton, OH. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in the memorial chapel of the Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell, IN with Dr. Charles Dayadharum officiating. Graveside services and burial was held the following day at Huron Cemetery.
