Matthew Eugene Patterson

Matthew Eugene Patterson, 17, a resident of Elk Ridge Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, April 6, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Funeral services for Matthew will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Jeff Smith and Bro. David Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

The Maury Co. native was the son of Jack and Shelia Odom Patterson. He was a senior at Summertown High, enrolled at Tennessee Technology in Hohenwald, studying Industrial Maintenance and he was a member of Freedom Church of Christ. He was a tenderhearted, loving and caring person who loved to hunt, go horseback riding and his favorite place was ?Grandma?s Farm?.

Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Jacob Lee Patterson of Mt. Pleasant; grandfather, Douglas Patterson of Columbia; aunts and uncles, Bobby Gene Janie Workman, James Willis Kathy Brown, Pamela Poston, Danny Sharon Estes, Harold Betty Reed, Carl Jo Workman, Ray Cathy Odom, all of Mt. Pleasant, Tom Gay McManamon and Benny Patterson, both of Columbia, Jonathan Sherri Patterson of Campbellsville, Jeff Peggy Odom and Neal Odom, both of Summertown; several great aunts uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Analissa Patterson and Eugene and Katie Odom; great grandparents, Pat and Lila Mae Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Adam Mark Laws, Justin Korp, Luke Jones, Ricky Mabry, Jr., Carl Workman, Allen Massey, Kyle Davis and Joel Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be Emma Kate Chapman, Ashley and Ashton ?Pedro? Graham, Summertown High School Seniors and students, Freedom Church of Christ members, Maury EMS, Lifeflight and staff of Vanderbilt Trauma Unit.
