She is preceded in death by her: parents, Kenneth Floyd Odom and Mary Virginia Odom; brother, Dayne (Paula) Odom; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Oma and Thomas Owen and nephew, Kenny Odom.
Marilyn loved her sisters Dorey and Lorey as her own. Marylin had a colorful work history. Marylin worked at Elk and Duck (the store where she met her husband), Rec bus, Whithorne cafeteria, painted Maury County schools, Head Start bus, Cindy Flowers, Williamson County School bus, YMCA, but her most memorable is Bus 40 for Maury County Schools. She loved all her children that rode her Bus 40. She dedicated herself for love of her kids on that bus.
Marylin had a larger-than-life attitude. She loved to sing, dance, travel, and enjoy the water and sun. She loved her family; she loved the Lord. She brightened the room with her smile and cooked meals out of this world for her family. She loved family gatherings, Christmas, her grandkids, her nieces and nephews, her own kids, her kids on and off bus 40. She never met a stranger. She was very social and loved to tell stories. She loved her mother and father; she was a daddy’s girl. Most of all she loved her husband. They celebrated 49 years of love and laughter. She loved her family hard. She loved to pick on her son, Kenneth Owen and grandson, Tyler Owen. She loved to get a rise out of her family and always told them she loved them before she left the room. She was very proud of her grandson, Kyle Owen, for entering the Army to serve our country. She was proud of her grandchildren for helping her through her sickness. They never left her side. Her son-in-law, Daniel Devers and daughter-in-law, Shell Owen meant the world to her for all of their help. Some of her most special moments were with KeeLe, Halley, Ginna, Ayra, Tyler, and Kyle.
She would challenge herself every day to read as many chapters of the Bible as she could. She has returned to her father in heaven. She always wanted her family close. Her daughter Ginger was her caregiver for many years. She taught her daughter everything she knew of cooking; she was a wonderful cook.
We would love to give a special thank you to Hospice Compassus and Dr. Gardner, Lisa, Paige, Andrew, Jessie, And Nichole at Hospice Compassus. Thank you for all you did for our mother and the love you showed to our family.
