Mrs. Mary Jane Tinsley, age 74, of Russellville, AL died Tuesday, October 20 at NHC Hillview Nursing Home in Columbia, TN.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday at the Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville, AL. Visitation will follow immediately after the services.
Mrs. Tinsley was a native of Moulton, AL, daughter of the late Jacob Haynes and Bertha Stevenson Highsmith, and widow of Marion Perry Tinsley, Jr.
She attended Florence State University and was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Saying she was a homemaker does little to describe her passion for life, friends, nature and family. Mary Jane was known for her social gatherings and events from Brownies meetings to High Tea, and will be remembered for having a full appreciation of life.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Laura Tinsley Scott of San Bruno, CA; Faith Tinsley Rex Deaton of South Haven, MS; Marian Tinsley Jon Colmer of Brandon, MS; and Perri Tinsley Tom Bowman of Columbia, TN; a sister: Mrs. Joyce Highsmith Horton of Albuquerque, NM; and 5 grandchildren: Laura Alice Scott, Zachary Rex Deaton, Marian Tinsley Colmer, Brooke Allison Bowman, and Perry Thomas Bowman.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Friends of Russellville Library, 110 East Lawrence St, Russellville, AL 35653.
The family also expresses its love and gratitude to the many caregivers who lovingly took care of Mary Jane during her last years.
