Mary Elizabeth "Tootsie" King

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Tootsie" Boshers King, age 87, a resident of N. Elm Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born February 25, 1924 in Maury County, daughter of the late Eugene and Annie Allen Boshers and wife of the late Charles Edward King, Sr. For many years, she worked for Jim Bailey and Lem Wagster at the Wagster-Bailey Drug Store in Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. King spent her life serving her late husband of 60 years, before he went to be with his Lord and Savior, and she continued her life serving her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her children: Ann Jim Fisher of Dacula, GA, Sandy Larry Gilbert of Franklin, KY, Charles King Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Howard Pearl Boshers, Eugene Bertha Boshers Jr. and Jackie Linda Boshers, all of Mt. Pleasant and Steve Carolyn Boshers of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren: Beth Jeff Kinsinger, Jimmy Allison Fisher, Alice Jeramy Trammell, Charles Edward "Trey" King III,; great grandchildren: Aidan, Tyler and Peyton Trammell, Lucy Elizabeth Kinsinger and Ella Kaitlin Fisher. She was preceded in death by her brothers: John "J.W." Boshers, Donald Boshers, William Pete Boshers and Kenneth Boshers.

Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Frank Webb and Rev. J.C. Christian officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Trey King, Jimmy Fisher, Jeff Kinsinger, Jeramy Trammell, Jason Boshers, Johnny Boshers, Ben Boshers, Michael Howard Boshers and Larry Boshers. Honorary pallbearers will be Elizabeth Hinson, Mr. & Mrs. W.C. Johnson, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hull, Dr. J. Cummins Couch III and the Ruth Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant or to Caris Hospice.
