Mary Effie Bruce Abner

Mrs. Mary Effie Louise Bruce Abner, 87, a resident of Buena Vista Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, November29, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Abner will be conducted Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Greg Gwin officiating. Entombment will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home.
The Camden, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Lon and Mary Tennessee Cook Bruce. She was the widow of William ?Kermit? Abner who died in October 9, 2003. She was a retired LPN in the Ob-Gyn Department at Maury Regional Hospital with 30 years of service. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Collegeview Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Rick Harris of Columbia, TN; two sons, Jerry Sandra Abner of Franklin, TN and Don Mary Ann Abner of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren, Alan Diane Abner of Murfreesboro, TN, Todd Kelli Abner of Franklin, TN, Tim Molly Abner of Fairview, TN, Dee Reese Bowen of Franklin, TN, John Paul Pam Abner of Johnson City, TN, Donna Mike Sinks of Clarksville, TN, and Molly Grace Harris of Columbia, TN; ten great grandchildren, Alex Abner, Ashley Abner, Elijah Bowen, Zane Bowen, John Phillip Abner, Brynn Abner, Matthew Abner, Michael Sinks, Clay Sinks, and Rachel Sinks; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, David Abner.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Collegeview Church of Christ and staff of The Bridge.
Memorials may be made to the Collegeview Church of Christ, 1618 Hampshire Pike, Columbia, Tennessee 38401.
