Mary Hazel Voorhees

January 19, 1932 — February 1, 2015

Mary Hazel Voorhees ”Coe”, age 83, passed away February 1, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Columbia, Tennessee.

Mary was born January 19, 1932 in Lyons, Georgia to the late Erlich Coe and late Callie (Sykes) Coe. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and Christian. She was confident at death that she served a loving savior and would enter his arms with joy and see her beloved husband again! She served many different roles throughout her life. Her working role was diverse. She worked as a singer, dancer, seamstress, bartender, CNA, and hairdresser. She was definitely a woman of many talents. When she wasn’t working she loved spending time with her husband and family. She was a loving wife to her husband, a husband that served in the United States Navy, making her a Navy wife for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed many things like reading her bible and doing crafts. She loved to play bingo, color, make dolls, and blankets; she also enjoyed the company of her many church friends. When it came to Mary’s last days she spent them with her children, grand children, and her good friend Emma Davis and the loving staff at NHC Columbia. Mary is loved and will be dearly missed. We will rejoice that she is pain free and singing in her Lord’s choir.

Mary is survived by: her daughters: Julie Peirce of Franklin, TN, Terri Blue of Fayetteville, NC, Nancy Deckelman of Siler City, NC, Gwen Hobbs of Sissonville, WV, and Cynthia Kemp of Pinehurst, NC; son: Gary Trull of Sanford, NC; grand daughters: Stephanie Johnson of Franklin, TN, Savannah Peirce of Murfreesboro, TN, Somer (Jamie) Thomas of Sanford, NC, Michelle (Chad) Wagner of Sissonville, WV, Crystal (Justin) Bridges of Orlando, FL, Natalie (Tony) Brousard of Honolulu, HI, Miriah Patterson of El Paso, TX, Autumn Smyth of Sanford, NC, Tammy Trull of Sanford, NC, and Dana Trull of Sanford, NC; grand sons: Jordan Kemp of Monroe, NC, David Mitchell Dubose of Sinton, TX, and Robbie (Abigail) Patterson of El Paso, TX; brother-in-law: Ronnie Carter; 18 beloved great grand children; and 2 sisters: Christine and Thelma; and many nieces and nephews.
