Mary L. Thomas

Age 87, a former resident of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. She was born February 28, 1927 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio to the late Lawrence T. and Iva Mae (Jones) Moyer. She is survived by her children, Charles (Anne) Thomas of Franktown, Colorado; Bob (Janie) Thomas of West Carrollton, Ohio; Cindy Thomas (Dwight) Fox of Columbia, Tennessee; and Tim (Carol) Thomas of Bailey, Colorado; grandchildren, Chris Thomas and Chad Thomas of Colorado; Sean Thomas of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Tabitha Thomas, Casy Thomas and Cole Kroeker of Colorado; and Olivia Thomas and Elijah Thomas of Ohio. Mary Lou was a graduate of the 1945 class of Miamisburg High School. Her husband Charles Robert Thomas preceded her in death in 1987 after 43 years of marriage. After she took time to raise her family, she went to work in nutrition services for Bethany Lutheran Village in Dayton, Ohio. She was a long-time member of the Parkview United Methodist Church in Miamisburg until she moved to Columbia, Tennessee nine years ago to live closer to her daughter. Prior to her move she enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her 1945 high school classmates. She will best be remembered by her family as a wonderful cook and the many special recipes she prepared during their visits to her home in Miamisburg. She was also a wonderful niece helping out many of her family members during their aging years with her visits, running errands and taking food to them. Family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 AM prior to the funeral services at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Centerville, OH.
