Mary Shires Cole

Mrs. Mary Shires Cole, 83, a resident of Alpine Drive in Columbia, died Friday, July 15, 2005, at Life Care Center in Columbia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cole will be conducted Tuesday July 19, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Andy Roberts and Bro. Tol Burk officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 to 9:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Born in Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late James Oscar Shires and the late Simmie Gibson Shires Holder and wife of Herbert E. Cole. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Guerry Barbara Cole Columbia; three grandsons, Rodney Cole of Kansas, MO, Ryan Cole of Baton Rouge, LA and Bryan Cole of Columbia; two nephews, Tony Shires of Columbia and Mike Shires of Culleoka. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Oscar Shires, Jr.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 419 W. 9th Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
