Mary Lou Ratliff Beard, age 71, of Thompsons Station, Tennessee passed away on June 16, 2018 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN.
Mary Lou was born on May 25, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Flemming Neon High School. In 1996 she married her husband, James “Jimmy” Edward Beard. Mary Lou was a precious and good-hearted woman. Her family was of utmost importance to her, they were her whole life and she loved them more than anything. Mary Lou was a very hard worker, she was a GM retiree. She loved blue grass/country music, including Elvis, whom she got to see live twice.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Jimmy Beard; daughter, Sandy Ratliff; sons, Charles Ratliff and Steve Ratliff; grandchildren: Kimberly Wenger, David Long, Logan Ratliff and Kelly Ratliff; siblings: Ray Vanover, Helen Duvall, Rosemary Mullins, Vern Vanover and Linda Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Dora Vanover and brothers: Bobby, Billy and Jonah “Popeye” Mullins.
Mary Lou’s family will visit with friends on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from noon until 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Corey Beasley, Steve Ratliff, Ray Vanover, Chuck Ratliff, David Long and Charlie Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers are friends from GM in Cadillac, Michigan, PoleTown/Hantranic in Detroit and Saturn in Spring Hill.
