Mary D. Gilliam

Mary Ann Drane Gilliam, age 94, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, surrounded by family at her home in Mount Pleasant, TN. Mary Ann was born November 6, 1926, in Greensboro, GA to the late Al and Agatha Drane.

Mary Ann spent most of her life caring for others. She always had a heart for putting others before herself. Alongside her husband George, they raised 2 children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was always a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A faithful woman, Mary Ann attended 1st United Methodist in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Mary Ann is loved and she will be dearly missed.

Mary Ann is survived by her children: George R. (Sheila) Gilliam and Marilyn Burgett; grandchildren: Roger Gilliam, Todd (Scarlett) Gilliam, Clay (Jennifer) Gilliam, Jay (Stacye) Burgett, Jeff (Jill) Burgett, and Brad (Farrah) Burgett; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband George H. Gilliam and siblings, Roger Drane, Noel Drane, Watson Drane, and Betty Johnson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, at Polk Memorial Gardens with Bro. Don Kerce officiating.

Pallbearers are Mary Ann's grandsons.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Marilyn Combs, Evelyn Trousdale, Gail Kerce, and Hendley Edwards.
