Mary Gail Buchanan Collins, widow of James E. Collins, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Kindred Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee after an extended illness.
Mary Gail was born on December 25, 1952 to the late Harold Buchanan and to Rosie E. Dulworth Buchanan Masters in Tipton, Indiana. She was one of five children and her siblings remember her as being loving and giving. Mrs. Collins and her late husband owned Collins Backhoe and Dozer Service together until he passed away. She was of the Baptist faith, having worshipped at Southport Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son: James Edward Collins, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; mother: Rosie Masters of Mt. Pleasant; step-father James "Hoyt" Masters of Mt. Pleasant; siblings: Alice Billy Stockdale of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Robert Marie Buchanan of Mt. Pleasant, Debbie Buddy Duke of Mt. Pleasant and Barbara John Carpenter of Franklin; step-sister: Judy David Shaufner; grandchildren: Kaylie and Zoe Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in The Arbors at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. William Owens officiating.
