Mary Frances South

Mrs. Mary Frances Hill South, age 74, a resident of Greenwood Acres Drive in Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. South will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday at the Northside Baptist Church in Columbia with Rev. John Rushing and Gary Baucom officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Born March 7, 1935 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Wilson Hill and the wife of Carter South of Columbia. Mrs. South was a longtime secretary for George Jones Custom Home Builders and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Ronnie Annette South and Rickey Lisa South, both of Columbia and Patricia Roger LeMond of Franklin; grandchildren: Joey Wayne Julie South, Joseph Benton South, Amy Rebecca South and Mary Katherine South, all of Columbia, Joshua Eric Megan South of Murfreesboro, Roger Lee LeMond Jr. of Chattanooga and Patrick Charles LeMond of Franklin; great grandchildren: Jackson Adam South and Justin Andrew South, both of Columbia; sisters: Emma Jean Ragsdale, Clara Ann Everett Griggs and Carolyn Baucom, all of Columbia, Katie Mae Clifford Eastep of South Gate, MI; brothers: John Marcella Hill and James Ruth Hill, both of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a sister: Jennie Lee Williams; brothers-in-law: James Ragsdale and Paul Williams.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces, nephews, the friends and neighbors of Greenwood Acres Dr. and the members of Northside Baptist Church.

The family request memorials be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 127 Theta Pike, Columbia, TN 38401.
