Mary Frances Ingram Brown, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee peacefully passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at Life Care Center in Columbia, TN.
Mary was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee Feb. 24, 1934 to the late Will Lee Ingram and the late Bertha Allen. After growing up in Southern Middle Tennessee, Mary met and married Charlie Brown and they settled down in Mt. Pleasant where they raised a large family full of love. During those years Mary worked at Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing sewing for over 20 years. Even when she wasn’t working though she still enjoyed sewing, making quilt tops and throws for her family and friends. Mary enjoyed anything that would keep her hands busy, like cooking delicious meals for others to enjoy or giving her beloved cats a scratch behind their ears. She truly enjoyed when her husband would hitch up the Mules and they would go for a ride in their wagon. Mary lived a life full of love and family. She is loved and will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her children: Judy (John) Helton, James (Tina) Brown and Jodi Brown; grandchildren: Melissa (David) Helton, Keith (Deanna) Brown, Misti (Phillip) Grooms, April (T.J.) Mobbs, Ricky (Jana) Brown, Joseph Brown, and Tressa Helton; many great grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren; sister: Lou Ella “Shirley” Norman; and several nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her husband: Charlie Brown; her parents; sons: Travis Brown, Bobby Brown, and Darrell Brown; grandsons: Johnny Helton, Tony Brown and Richard Lee Brown; and siblings: James Ingram, Jeanette Daring, Odell Ingram, and Mrion Ingram.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 10:00 AM. to 12:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A celebration of Mary’s life will begin at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with Herb Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
Pallbearers are Mary’s grandsons: Ricky Brown, Jonathan Potts, James Thomas Potts, Keith Brown, Joseph Brown, Phillip Grooms, and Robert Luke.
