Mary Ellen Lane

Mrs. Mary Ellen King Lane, 85, a resident of Hwy 166 North in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2006 at NHC Columbia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lane will be conducted Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Elmer Crosby officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Mt. Joy native was the daughter of the late Argles W. and Pearl Kennedy King and the widow of James Everett Lane. Mrs. Lane was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and a member of the Allensville Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Roland McKnight of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Kim Jay Baker of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandsons, Wesley and Corey Baker both of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Donald Betty King of Hampshire; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, William King, Claude King, Clifford King, Carl King, Ernest King and Lawrence King; two sisters, Cora Leigh Lindsey and Neva Beckum.
Pallbearers will be Clifford King, Jr., Mark King, Gary King, Bradley McNeece, Robert McKnight, Jr. and Bobby Beckum.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Allensville Baptist Church, Staff of NHC Columbia, Staff of Caris Hospice, Kelly Williams, M.D., J. Cummins Couch, M.D. and William Petrie, M.D.
