Mrs. Mary Edith Scott, age 62, a longtime resident of Mt. Pleasant before moving to Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, July 13 2010 at her residence.
Graveside services for Mrs. Scott will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Blowing Springs Cemetery with Sister Nellie Hicks officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10:00-10:30 AM at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Born December 30, 1947 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Clyde and Lena Pearl Workman Scott. She worked at a Laundry Mate in Nashville before becoming disabled. Mary loved all kinds of music, outdoors, collecting dolls and surrounding herself with people. She was a member of the First United Methodist in Nashville and helped teach Sunday School and involved with helping the homeless people.
Mary is survived by two sons: Eddie Vanderpool of Nashville and Brian Vanderpol of Jackson FL; one sister and four brothers: Wilma Irene Smith , Andrew Pam Scott and James Scott all of Mt. Pleasant, Willie Joan Scott of Nashville and Charles Richard Scott of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Gerry Wayne Scott, Stanley Scott and Michael Edward Scott
Pallbearers will be Danny Wayne Smith, Wallace Edward Smith, Tommy Lee Ragsdale, Cory Thompson, Casy Thompson and David Guerant.
