Mary Ines Dugger, age 77, long time Columbia resident, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Mary was born April 3, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, TN, the daughter of the late Tom England and Adell Durham England. She was the wife of the late Buford F. Dugger. Mary was retired as an LPN with Maury Regional Medical Center after 30 years, a profession to which she was very dedicated. She also volunteered for 20 years with the Heart to Heart Volunteers at Maury Regional Medical Center. Her family recalled that she never met a stranger. Mary loved her Lord and attended church faithfully at Southside Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include a special friend, Bruce Turner of Columbia; nieces, Kathy (Jim) Kightlinger of Pulaski, Dot Hendrix of Spring Hill and Linda (David) Rankin of Georgia; nephews, Ronnie Davis of Ohio and Tommy Lee England of Tennessee and Jimmy England of Pulaski; 7 great nieces and 1 great nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services for Ms. Dugger will be conducted Monday, September 11, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Matt Beard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Southside Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, pastors and members of the Maury Baptist Executive Board, past and present employees of Maury Regional Medical Center and Auxiliary volunteers of Maury Regional Medical Center.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Heart to Heart Volunteers at Maury Regional Medical Center.
