Mrs. Mary Dale Leighton Roberson, 84, a long-time resident of the Carter's Creek Pike, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Life Care Center of Columbia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Roberson will be conducted Saturday , August 10, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late J.W and Clara Foster Leighton. She was the widow of Aldon C. Roberson who died March 31, 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the Graymere Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Thelma Jean Roberson of Columbia and Joe Judy Roberson of Columbia; 3 granddaughters, Robyn Jeramie Graham of Columbia, Amy Chad Cox of Columbia, and Abby Bell Couch of Nashville; a grandson, Clark Roberson of Arizona; two great grandchildren, Emily Graham and Catherine Cox; a twin sister, Margaret May of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Charles Leighton of Lawrenceburg; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Foster Leighton and Noel Leighton.
Pallbearers will be John L. Davis, Jerry Erwin, Ray Hutcherson, Charlie Ingram, James Leighton, Gary Love, Phil Sellars, and Steve Watson.
