Mary "Chris" Iverson Handy

Mary Christine “Chris” Iverson Handy a resident of Columbia, TN died Sept. 8, 2015 in her home.

Born 12/14/48 to Robert L. Iverson, Sr. and A. Maxine Iverson in Indianapolis, IN. Chris leaves behind her husband William E. Handy, sons Gary L. (Jen) Colasessano ESQ and Patrick McCarty both of Indianapolis. Additionally, brothers Robert L. (Amy) Iverson M.D. of Sarasota, FL and Rodney A. “Rod” (Barbara) Iverson of Goodyear, AZ. Also she leaves two grandchildren, whom she adored, Remington E. and Garin L. Colasessano of Indianapolis.

Christy attended Manual HS in Indianapolis and later obtained a BS degree in Anthropology from Middle Tennessee State University. She retired from General Motors having worked at Allison Division in Indianapolis, IN, GM Assembly in Janesville, WI, and Saturn Corp. in Spring Hill, TN.
Christy will be missed by her extensive family of cousins, her Aunt Mary Brewer from Salem, IN and the friends she cherished throughout her life.

Thank you for all the loving care given by: Core Physicians, Maury Regional Medical Center, Maury Regional Cancer Center, NHC Hillview HealthCare, and Hospice Compassus.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church where she was a member on Sept. 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers Chris asked that donations be made to Maury County Animal Shelter.
